- What are the strengths and weaknesses of your case?
Felonies:
The conviction for a felony often prohibits employment in certain occupations and denial of occupational licensing. Penalties may include imprisonment within State Prison. A felony conviction would also result in the loss of civil rights, including the right to vote and the rights to own, use, or possess a firearm. A convicted felon’s honesty and truthfulness are forever questioned.
Misdemeanors:
The conviction for a misdemeanor that involves untruthfulness or dishonesty often carries the same employment ramifications as a felony conviction. Penalties can range from a simple fine and/or probation to a possible 365 days incarceration in the county jail. A misdemeanor conviction may result in immediate suspension of your privilege to drive.
FSU, FAMU & TCC Students:
if you have been charged with a crime while enrolled in FSU, FAMU or TCC, you could face registration holds, suspensions, and possible expulsion. Campus administrative hearings are often scheduled prior to your criminal case being resolved. This could greatly impact or delay your academic progress. Mr. Cherry can assist in preparation for administrative hearings and possibly postpone administrative hearings until your criminal case has been resolved.
